A mission that started with ground teams from multiple King County SAR teams on Friday for an injured hiker near lake Melakwa ended up being resolved with a helicopter hoist extraction early Saturday morning by our amazing friends from Snohomish County Helicopter Rescue Team who extracted our patient and transported them to a local hospital for care.

After the mission wrapped up and all of the ground teams had extracted from their overnight mission along the Denny Creek trailhead, I swung by the Snow Lake trailhead to see how the signage looked announcing the closure for trail maintenance. I met up with two very friendly Forest Service folks who had suggestions for alternate hikes and were helping to share the news about the trail closure.

Every chance we get to collaborate with other agencies we learn something new and it is an amazing opportunity to strengthen our relationships with our fellow volunteers and responsive agencies. -L3
